Choosing a Real Estate Appraiser
Many people are turning to real estate to make money. No matter if you are buying for yourself, or as an investment, chances are you will need an appraisal done. This tells what the property is worth. The bank you will want to borrow the money from need to know this. They will not lend you more than the property is worth. This protects both parties. If it appraises as much or more than the loan you will be good to go. If it appraises for less, than you need to negotiate at a lower price or forget the deal altogether.
Make sure you get a reputable appraiser. If he is not experienced enough to know what he is doing then you may pay for it at a later time when you do get another one done or the bank does it. Your best bet is to ask around. Word of mouth is much better than going off on your own. Ask your neighbors or someone who has sold or bought a home already. They have been through it and you can find out their experience with this person. This is your best bet if you have never had any experience with this.
